Get a Christmas hair makeover with new colours
by Joy Fang

AS SOMEONE who dyes her hair every few months, I guess you can call me a hair-dye expert of sorts.

I’m a fickle fan of colours, and I’ve tried everything from bottled dyes to salon dyes, going from blonde to copper with nary a thought.

My latest venture has turned out to be my favourite to date.

I visited Headlines Hairdressing, where my colourist, Gary Lee, the Singapore-based artistic educator for American hair-care brand Matrix, works.

Matrix, used exclusively in salons, has released its new Wonderbrown series. Gary used a reddish brown as my base colour, and a gold copper for highlights.

The end result?

A head of hair that looks soft and shimmering under the light, with multiple tones of colour.

What’s more, I did not need to have my hair bleached to get those highlights, because the dye uses a special technology that naturally lightens the hair colour by four levels.

As my hair has gone through several dye jobs before, I was worried about how well the new colour would take.

But the dye blended in with my previous highlights and dye jobs, and produced harmonious colours that I’ll be loving for quite awhile. I now feel ready for this season’s parties.

Hey, I even feel red-carpet ready, if the need ever arises.

Hairstylist: Gary Lee, Matrix’s Artistic Educator from Headlines Hairdressing in 18 Cross St, China Square Central, #01-15. Make-up: Claire See, Shu Uemura Accredited Make-Up Artist
