The department store has added five brands, which were previously hard to find, to its beauty stable.

Drgeorgialee Skincare, the skin, hair and body range by home-grown aesthetics doctor Georgia Lee, The Health Club range of herbal health supplements by actress Jaclyn Tay and Californian organic skincare brand Juice Beauty have been unveiled.

The other two brands – Dr Brandt by American celebrity dermatologist Dr Fredric Brandt and Rodial from Britain, which uses natural ingredients – will be available from Dec 8.

BREAD WINNER A venture capitalist based in Singapore is one of five women honoured at this year’s Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards.

Filipino Kimberley Ong, 22, the Asia-Pacific laureate, developed a low-cost bread enriched with a type of algae called spirulina to combat malnutrition among children in the Philippines.

Launched in 2006, the award is organised by French jeweller Cartier and supported by the French-based Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society, France’s Insead Business School and American management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company.

It offers female entrepreneurs worldwide a platform to develop their business ideas for a global market.

This year, 15 projects from 12 countries were shortlisted from 820 applicants.

The best five, one each from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America, were named laureates.

Each gets a US$20,000 (S$27,702) grant, a year of coaching to develop and market her brand and product as well as an exclusive trophy designed by Cartier.
