THE report, “Aim of new network for dads: More time with kids” (my paper, Nov 17), underlines the importance of family ties, especially those between fathers and children.
In our fast-paced environment, fathers work long and hard to provide for their families.
In dual-income families, mothers are also not at home for most of the day.
Fathers who frequent pubs and karaoke bars can reduce the number of visits to such places.
Ditto for those who go to the racecourse.
Engage in healthy activities which encourage bonding, such as taking your kids to watch a football match.
Bookshops and libraries are where kids can pick up reading as a habit.
No matter where or how busy you are, it pays to chat with your children.
The sense of being loved and cared for will help foster a better relationship.
Parents should take no chances with their children’s upbringing.
Spending more quality time with kids will reinforce the parent-child relationship.
