Diva wins gold at WAN-IFRA Asian Media Awards
by Mary-Ann Soh

CHENNAI, INDIA - DIVA, Singapore's leading women's lifestyle website, has lived up to her name. It won the gold award for Best Magazine Website at the 8th WAN-IFRA Asian Media Awards 2009 yesterday.

The AsiaOne starlette was among the 11 top achievers which did the multimedia giant Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) proud at the award ceremony.

AsiaOne editor Adrian Tay said: "It is indeed an honour for Diva to win the gold award in IFRA's Magazine Website category.

"Diva, which was launched in November 2008, offers a comprehensive range of lifestyle content that caters to the IT-savvy modern working professional who is interested in topics that range from fashion and beauty to lifestyle-related topics such as relationships and parenting.

"Our increasing pageviews and growing readership base show that efforts to provide engaging and interactive online content has met with readers' approval."

It was a night of stunning victory for SPH as the media specialist bagged four golds, six silvers and one bronze in a total of 16 categories.

Out of the 11 awards to SPH's name, eight went to SPH's multimedia websites - a marked achievement for the company which is traditionally better known for its print products.

Diva's award in the Best Online Media category recognises publishers who have adopted digital media, beyond print, as part of their total product to meet the major changes in how people consume news and information.
