Normally, as a conservative and rational shopper, I'd say to girlfriends "hold your horses" whenever a new product hits the stores. But, with this particular - pink - collection, prettied in orchid, bespeckled with crystals and primed with that Vara bow, I'd have to say...please, fall in love.
Diva was at the preview of Salvatore Ferragamo's Pink Revolution Collection Thursday at Mimolette, where we got to have a first look at the dizzy-dazzling limited edition series, created specially to raise funds for Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Pink Collection is not meaty, but it is weighty. The fashion powerhouse's main message in doing their bit for charity is: "Beauty is hope."
It will donate 10% of all sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research.
The collection has no more than 10 items and comprises of women's bags and shoes, sunglasses and t-shirts. It will be available at selected Ferragamo boutiques in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, India and Australia in the month of October.
The leitmotifs of this exclusive collection are the gancino icon, the “Salvatore Ferragamo” signature logo and a cascade of pure crystals, which make up part of the Florentine label’s DNA.

The queen and crown princess of the collection, which by no accident took centre piece displays yesterday, are the iconic sandal with a caged heel swathed in crystals and the evening clutch embellished with mini-Varas covered in pink crystals, respectively (see photo above).
Her royal highness, a modern-day design of the 1956 original, is robed in iridescent pink leather with a plateau sole and crowned with a large matt silver-plated Vara bow on the upper. She sits on a mighty three-inch crystal-glazed heel and reigns victoriously from her throne. While she will undoubtedly empower any woman, if any of us gets to wear her someday, Diva is blown away by the intricacy and intimacy of the cage design - your sure Ferragamo signature.
As with all princess treatment, the darling evening clutch, embossed with mini-Vara covered in pink crystals, comes in ultra-soft leather with satin lining to pamper your touch.
These two couture pieces are not for sale but are available for auction, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The silent auction will commence on October 1, with a starting bid of S$6,800, and conclude on October 31, 2009. The full proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

True to its passion for shoes, Ferragamo has also included a Varina ballerina shoe and a sneaker, in addition to the iconic sandal. The Pink Collection knows the way to a girl's heart and is complete with a footwear for every occasion.
The ballerina shoe, also donned with the historic Vara gros-grain bow, is to-die-for and just the thing for everyday wear. For the happy casual occasion, the sneaker should be your delightful solution. It is embossed with the gancino logo in pink strass gems on the side of the upper and matching laces.
