Make up that does more
by Lucinda Law

EXPECTATIONS of make-up are on the rise, as more women look for multi-tasking products.

Take Ms Joycelyn Wong, 25, a designer and illustrator, for example. She said that she looks for “multi-purpose products” that provide SPF protection and contain whitening properties, and which also rejuvenate and improve her skin’s texture.

Well, good news, beauty buffs: Make-up that does more is offered by almost all beauty brands these days.

According to a Chanel make-up expert, women “are getting more adventurous in their make-up and have higher expectations in terms of what their make-up can do for them”.

Elizabeth Arden’s vice-president of colour marketing, Ms Bonnie Beer, said: “Women these days are pressed for time. They look for products that perform better.”

From Chanel to Dr Hauschka, it seems that many multi-tasking products are being offered – from eyeshadows with soothing properties to foundations that hydrate skin at the same time.
