Gillian Chung in Red Cliff parody

Hong Kong - More than 60 stars are appearing in a comedy that parodies John Woo's epic Red Cliff, including Gillian Chung.

Actor Alex Fong confirmed last Saturday that he filmed with the pop star for four days, said Ming Pao Daily News.

Chung, whose career is still suffering after a sex photo scandal last year, will appear in a cameo role as Sun Shangxiang, a warlord's sister played by Vicki Zhao in the two original movies.

'She was happy filming,' Fong said of Chung.

Director Jeffrey Lau has been careful not to confirm the casting of Chung, however. He said they were still in talks.

He is the man behind such cult classics as The Eagle Shooting Heroes (1993) and the two-parter A Chinese Odyssey (1994), starring Stephen Chow and Athena Chu.

Chu, as well as stars from Eric Tsang to Ronald Cheng, have been cast in the new movie.
