Anti-molest campaign needed to protect kids

I REFER to media reports on the convictions of a paedophile who posed as a policeman and a primary-school teacher, for sexually abusing young girls.

I am sure parents of young children are concerned as these are unlikely to be isolated incidents.

Molestation cases have taken place in shopping centres, swimming complexes and school toilets.

The police should launch an awareness and prevention campaign to alert the
public to the threat posed by molesters.

Posters placed prominently at locations such as toilet entrances will remind the public to watch out for suspicious loiterers.

Parents, teachers and preschool staff must teach children to be on guard against sexual predators.

It is said that early sexual trauma can scar a child for life.

There should be zero tolerance for child molestation. -Mr Sebastian Tan
