Anna and Ming* got married in 1997, when she was 26 and he was 30. She told Her World that her marriage broke down after she suffered a miscarriage in her third trimester.
Anna consulted a gynaecologist and was diagnosed with Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome after a year of trying to get pregnant without success. It is a condition where the ovaries releases eggs before they were fully formed.
After receiving treatment and a year of continuous trying, she would cry each time she got her period, each time feeling like a failure as a wife and a woman. She began receiving fertility treatments, as Ming kept watch by her side. Finally, they both heard the news they had been waiting for - Anna became pregnant.
At 10 weeks into the pregnancy, they found out they were expecting twins.
But the pregnancy was troubled when one of the twins died in the womb at 24 weeks. Two weeks later, Anna started spotting and was rushed to hospital. She was ordered to get complete bed rest.
Anna said to her then-unborn baby: "Be strong for mummy okay? Mummy loves you. Show me you're okay." And the baby would respond with a little kick.
She wanted to keep her remaining baby alive, but soon developed a fever. Despite being allergic to medication such as paracetemol, aspirin and antibiotics, she asked for the medicines, fearing that her fever will affect her baby. But the doctor decided against it, as her life was at risk. On the 12th night of her hospital stay, she began to shiver violently. A monitor that kept track of the baby's heartbeat showed that it was beating fasting and increasingly more irregular.
The doctor asked the couple to decide if they wanted to keep the baby. At under 1kg and infected by her fever, Anna knew that her baby had very little chances of survival even if they managed to resuscitate her.
It was a most painful decision, but Anna had to let her baby go. She whispered to her baby: "Mummy is so sorry, mummy has to let you go. Forgive me please."
Anna and Ming could not bear to see the bodies, and she told the hospital to dispose of them. But she regrets not having given them a proper burial till today.
Anna's marriage started to go downhill after that. Ming was devastated at the loss of the pregnancy, and was unable to call up enthusiasm when Anna decided to try and get pregnant again.
Then Anna found out that Ming was seeing another woman. He told her that he was not confident that she could give him the children he wanted. She decided to file for a divorce, and Ming attempted half-heartedly to salvage their relationship.
She decided to go ahead with the divorce, as she could not promise to help fulfil his dream of being a father.
Three years after the divorce, she has finally been able to move on. Now at 38, Anna has started seeing an old friend, who knows of her past. S
he told Her World: "In a way, losing my husband was more painful than losing my babies because I lost myself too."
What a typical story when nothing to write. :D
Anna Jia You with watever u r doing ! God bless u ! :):)
I guess he will find out when he fails to conceive with his new love of his life.. this is a fine fine example of a d*ck who takes an instrumental opinion of marriage.... marriage is a means to propagate.. his wedding vows should be, based on fulfilling his objectives, if not, he will move on..... crap! he gives a bad name to all divorcees.... strayer! ingrate! To think the poor woman suffered..and now he is off to greener pastures! cursed man! cursed cursed man!
Anna, it is really not worth thinking of your ex-hubby. He's not worth it. He is being naive and hypocritical.
I really liked the way she told the Her World reporter, that losing her hubby was more painful.....
This is the epitomy of a good husband... gundamwing, are u married? :D You are every ladies' dream.
Who is denying? That is just the natural reaction of a scorned woman! Denying this brutal truth that a scorned woman will retaliate is just being naive and hypocritical.... stupid man, he deserved to be cast out! Adulterer! Stoned to death! He can accompanying his death babies! Unfatihful b*stard!
Move on gal! HAPPINESS is awaiting :D
If for me, I will still stick on with my wife if she suffered such problem. When we made a vow during the matrimony, it is not said for the fun of it or for at that moment of joy or whaqtever..!!
It is not easy for Anna to carry the babies and get miscarriages....Ming won't understand cos he is not the one who carries te babies in his tummy...
