Top 10 reasons why every daughter needs her father

When you ask a man when he became a real man, he will typically say when he became a father.

Much has been said about the importance of a mother in a daughter's life. In fact, a girl's father is one of the most influential people in her life, from birth through adulthood.

As Father's Day is around the corner, here we list 10 points why fathers are so important in a girl's life.

10. Pays her bills

This is almost irrelevant but it's a fact. In the popular imagination, from when you are born to when you leave home at age 18 or soon thereafter, your father pays your bills.

He needs to spend money on taking care of your physical needs and supporting your mother - from diapers during the early years to educational expenses and other costs that apply to older children, but this is the least important reason why he is important.

9. Ask him when mom says no

What to do when your mother says no: ask your father. Not because he is foolish enough not to realise the gravity of the situation as mom suspects, but just because he tries not to disappoint his little heart and wishes to give her everything she desires.

8. The first superhero she knows

The father is every girl's first superhero. He could lift her in the air, show her the world, save her from trouble, praise every success and encourage her to try again when she fails.

He might not be able to fly or save the world on a daily basis, but they do more for our families then we ever think, and what else would one wish for in a superhero?

7. Her first love

The first true love any girl has is for her father. A daughter's first bonding with any man is with her father, he is also the man who influences her ability to love and to trust.

In how he treats her mother, she learns subconsciously that any later relationships with men are filtered through that experience. No one will ever replace him as the love of her life.

6. He raises a lady

While a mother raises a girl, a dad raises a lady. His involvement in her life is a crucial ingredient in the development of a young lady's self-esteem.

He eases her emotions, cultivating a trusting relationship so that she feels secure talking to him about what's going on in her life. He makes her strong-headed, shows her respect and heals the inevitable pain that comes with life. He is the man who gives her affection and supports her to learn who she is and what kind of person she wants to be.

5. His indifference makes the difference

Fathers are often believed to be more logical than mothers and seen to be indifferent to a lot of things that mothers worry about. While mothers preach how one should live fathers don't tell you how to live. They always try to encourage you to focus on what is really important to you, and to be honest with yourself.

4. He believes in her

He respects her, protects her, guides her and most of all believes in her. He made her believe in herself by believing in her. He appreciates her for the best woman who has ever lived and teaches her to grow to be a good woman.

3. Dear husband, be like my father

Women tend to choose husbands who look like their fathers. Her father is the first man she observes from the moment she is born and the epitome of every role that a man ever plays. If she is seeking out a mate to marry with similar traits and features like her father, she can rest assured it is the best decision she has taken.

2. He is her man

Father is a daughter's first love. He promises her that she will always be his little girl. He is there to spill tears of happiness when she is born. He is there to approve, disapprove, accept and forgive. He is always there to love her and he is the only man who will never hurt her.

1. He is why she is

There is no reason bigger than this - he gives her life, she is his flesh and blood. He is important because he is her very source of life.

He is important because he will always be there, through thick and thin. He is important because he gets overly protective when she starts hanging out with boys and still he willingly gives her away when she has a real one because he wishes to see her happy and loved. Fathers do not need reasons to be important in their daughters' life.
