A man whose wife ran off with another guy has put her wedding dress for sale online - advertising it as "harlot-sized" and ideal for an "adulterous, deceitful, double-crossing" tramp.

The 32-year-old disgruntled ex is from Sydney, Australia.

The wedding dress was put up for sale on gumtree.com.au, which has received more than 51,000 hits so far.

The dress was posted with the title: "Bride Seeking Eventual Infidelity", reported UK's The Daily Mail.

The description on the ad was: "Due to be married soon? Not planning on staying faithful? Want to sleep with one of your soon-to-be husband's closest friends? Then THIS is the wedding dress for you!'

The ad was written by Mr Dan Campbell, a friend of the spurned husband's.

Mr Campbell, a 25-year-old refrigeration mechanic who is also from Sydney, said the man, who works in local government in Sydney, gave him full approval for the ad.

The woman allegedly had an affair with a friend of the groom.

Mr Campbell said the dress, a size 10-12, was worn only once - at the ill-fated wedding of his friend three years ago.

He added that he wanted to protect the jilted groom's identity for fear of reprisals on the part of his friend's ex wife.

Mr Campbell said: "He was absolutely wrecked when it broke up... He went through a lot of crap. They had a divorce settlement and he's happy now.

"He was laughing actually when I told him about all the attention the ad's been getting."

Mr Campbell said has received several genuine inquiries about the dress from women asking the garment's size.

He had not come to a price yet, but offers were firming around US$300 (S$375).
