Finishing touches

We Love This!

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, $45

I find that many of the bronzers I have tried - and unfortunately bought - have an unnatural shimmer.

Not this one. This is a matte bronzer.

I love how it seems very natural. It accentuates and sharpens your cheek bones. If you know how to use contouring lines to enhance your face, this is great for that too.

It is not overly pigmented, which is what I like. It appears to look more natural.

But if your make-up role model is Kim Kardashian, who has a make-up blueprint for her face, you can still layer the product to get a dark, deep colour.

It is also very long-lasting - giving you the confidence of not having an oily face during the day.

Bonus? It smells like chocolate - something I think more cosmetics companies could try doing to their products.

Available at Sephora.

bareMinerals Ready Touch Up T Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in translucent, $42

This translucent pressed powder is meant to deliver a flawless finish to your make-up while also making it last throughout the day.

It is only partially successful.

On application, it does give your face a matte finish. But last throughout the day?

I found myself constantly having to touch it up.

I'm not sure if I can lay all the blame for that on the applicator, but the sponge provided failed to pick up the product effectively.

To get the best from this powder, I recommend buying a separate, more effective sponge.

Available at Sephora.

Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow, $35

Nothing finishes a great look more than beautiful eye make-up.

I especially love it when I don't need three different eyeshadow colours and multiple brushes.

To give your eyes an alluring metallic shimmer, this product is basically all you need.

It comes with a primer, so add that to a bit of the product and mix it with your fingers.

I find it extremely messy. But if you love a highly pigmented look, it's definitely worth it.

Even if you didn't pick up much of the product, the colour is intense.

Available at Sephora.

Contouring & Highlighting: How to get Kim Kardashian Definition

Username: Amanda Ensing
Keywords: Contouring tutorial, bronzer

If you want to look like Kim Kardashian, there's a tutorial out there.

All you need is a small arsenal of make-up products. Ms Ensing lists six, including a foundation and a foundation one shade darker than your skin.

If you think this shopping list is ridiculous, wait until she goes Picasso on her face with a highlighter pen.

It has so many steps that I gave up halfway.

I looked like I had been caked with make-up, which, to be fair, is the truth. I probably won't go all the way any time soon - unless I meet Kanye, of course.

5 Ways to Use Translucent Powder

Apparently, the translucent powder does more than set your make-up look for the day. Make sure you get loose powder though.

One fantastic tip this YouTuber shares is to apply some powder on a disposable, clean mascara wand and then apply it on your lashes. It supposedly helps to add volume to your lashes! And it actually works.

Just one coat and my lashes looked thicker.

It's not just make-up tips. Trying to break in a pair of new shoes, rub some powder against your heels and the chances of you getting a blister are significantly lower, or so this YouTuber says.

I haven't tried this one yet, but I think it's a good excuse to buy new shoes this weekend.
