It's official: Singapore showbiz golden couple Fann Wong and Christopher Lee are expecting their first child after five years of marriage.

The 42-year-old actor revealed to Taiwanese media yesterday that his wife is three months pregnant.

Lee, who was grinning during the interview, said: "I'm suppressing my excitement. It's something I've been looking forward to for a long time."

He made the announcement at a Chinese New Year celebration held by Catwalk, the Taiwanese modelling and artist agency that represents the couple.

The good news was soon all over social media, with fans sending their hearty congratulations to the Singaporean couple.

A-list actress Wong subsequently posted on her own Weibo account in Chinese, saying: "Christopher and I will be welcoming a baby born in the Year of the Horse. We're looking forward to the new life. The baby is doing well and healthy."

Lee replied to her Weibo posting, saying in Chinese: "My dear wife! It's hard on you! Love you! Love the baby!"

Rumours of Wong's pregnancy emerged after the couple's celebrity-hairstylist friend David Gan posted a photo of them with their fingers pressed against their mouths - as if they were trying to keep a secret - at Wong's 43rd birthday celebration last month.
