ALOR SETAR - Five siblings welcomed the New Year with a memorable occasion by getting married on the same day.

Beef seller Che Ariffin Abd Manaf and his wife Sharifah Fatimah Syed Hussain held the bersanding ceremony of their daughter and four sons at their house in Lorong Seri at Jalan Langgar here.

"I am thankful that the wedding, which was planned over the past few months, went smoothly," Che Ariffin said.

The couple's children Farhana, 28, Mohd Farhan, 26, Mohd Syafiq, 25, Mohd Anis, 22, and Mohd Anas, 20, married their respective partners in a grand ceremony, which was attended by more than a thousand guests here yesterday.

Che Ariffin said the idea to hold the joint wedding ceremony came from Mohd Syafiq.

"Everyone was delighted and excited about the idea.

"This is a combined effort by my children, who had met their life partners about a year ago and agreed to hold this ceremony," he said.

He added that his wish was for his children to live happily with their respective partners.
