Malaysian actress denies reports of her having scandalous affair

Actress Neelofa has declared she has had enough with rumours that she is having an affair with a VIP.

"This is too much. Stories like these, which do not make sense, can tarnish the image and credibility of an actress," said Neelofa, who is upset over latest reports that she had been caught for khalwat with the VIP.

The 24-year-old said the accusations had caused her embarrassment and affected her reputation especially as a Muslim.

"Honestly, I didn't even know about this until the news had spread. If I had been caught for khalwat, I would surely be in Malaysia to resolve the matter. I am now overseas to further my studies," she said in a Whatsapp message to Metro Ahad.

Several online portals and blogs had reported that Neelofa had been caught for khalwat with a prominent businessman last Thursday. Ironically, said Neelofa, she had been attending an event that night, during which she was appointed as a brand ambassador for a product, before leaving for London with her family the next morning.

"If such allegations are to be made, it should be supported with a police report, a letter from the religious authorities and witnesses," she said.

> A senior citizen has been credited with saving 11 people from a fire in Bachok.

Rahmah Mohamad bravely ran to a burning house and knocked on the door, screaming to alert the family sleeping inside.

The 70-year-old was in her kitchen preparing kuih to sell at about 5am on Saturday, when she noticed one of her neighbour's houses on fire.

"I rushed to the house, which is about 50m away, shouting and knocking on the house door and wall to wake the family, which I assumed was asleep. I continued trying until they finally woke up, " she said in a report by Kosmo!

During the blaze, one house, which belonged to a family of seven, was completely burnt down while another house, with a family of four, was partially destroyed.
