French designer Isabel Marant is dishing out her classics through a collaboration with Swedish high-street fashion label H&M.
As a tribute to the multinational clothing retailer, Marant has come up with her luxurious-Bohemian tomyboy-street chic style featuring clothing and accessories for women and teenagers.
The 46-year-old designer has also, for the first time, created a collection for men comprising outerwear, heavy-knits and leather trousers.
Prices range from $59.90 for a white linen T-shirt to $299 for a pair of heels and $549 for a jacket. (See sidebar).
The collection, which marks yet another coup for yearly collaborations with style icons and brands, was launched yesterday morning at H&M Orchard Building.
Marant joins the ranks of past designer collaborators such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin and Marni.
The much-anticipated collection has already created a frenzy on eBay.
Fashion website vogue.co.uk reported that Marant's collection is already available, and at exaggerated prices too.
The fringed suede boots, priced at $399, is being sold at US$549 (S$684) on eBay, while the $199 leather trousers cost US$500, an indication that the collection is set to be the most popular to date.
In an attempt to capture the Asian market for this collection, H&M worked with Chinese actress Gao Yuan Yuan, where she modelled on the streets of Paris in mix-and-match ensembles from the collaboration.
"The collection consists of tie-dye prints, embroidery, knitwear and pieces with craftsmanship, which are easy to mix and match," said the 37-year-old fashionista in an interview with HerWorldPLUS.
