2014's new hair trend? Styles and colours that will make you take a second look

SINGAPORE - Next year, get set for hair style and colour that's full of surprises.

Global hair product company Goldwell introduced its collection for next year, Reallusion, at the recently held Color Zoom Global Event '13 event in Los Angeles, California.

With their new trend, Reallusion, a play on the words reality and illusion, Goldwell promises that what appears to be simply stylish at first will look even more fascinating at second glance, exposing a wealth of ideas and creative wit.

Playing on a trend defined by optical trickery and illusion, their global creative team developed a unique colour-and-cut concept: the Kaleidoscope effect.

Several techniques are used to create a variety of versatile looks, with the use of prisms to achieve very different results, depending on their number and placement.

Apart from the introduction of Reallusion, the event also culminated an international competition where 70 national finalists from 28 countries competed live and simultaneously in three categories, Partner, New Talent and Creative, to showcase their colour creations. This includes two stylists from Singapore, Yuujin Ho (Creative) and Tay Chun Jiat (New Talent).

In the end, only three prevailed: Derrick Zeno from USA (Partner), Kuku Soh from Taiwan (New Talent), and Rustam Mirasov from Russia (Creative).

The three will now join the Creative Team to develop the new Goldwell trend collection.

Take a look at the future of hair, Reallusion, as imagined by the Creative Team here:
