SINGAPORE - Local singer-actress Foyce Le Xuan, 33, announced on Facebook on Oct 29 that she has breast cancer and was preparing to undergo surgery yesterday to remove a tumour in her breasts.

In the post, she shared details of her cancer diagnosis and asked for support and prayers for the surgery to go well.

She wrote that an MRI scan had showed that the tumour is malignant and cancerous. She underwent the operation at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Foyce added in her post that friends should remain in good spirits through her ordeal. "Nothing is going to take away my smile, my laughters (sic) and my life."

According to a My Paper report, Foyce was accompanied by her father for the operation scheduled yesterday at 10am.

Foyce was thrust into the media limelight following the disclosure of Jack Neo's affair with Wendy Chong in March 2010.

She had stepped forward to share that she was sexually harassed by the local director when she was working in J Team Productions.

Foyce was last in the news in 2011, when a car she was in crashed head-on with another car. Le told The New Paper that she later discovered her injuries were more severe than she originally thought. Her right cheekbone was fractured, so she had to undergo surgery.

She also feared that she would be permanently scarred from the wounds on her face.

Foyce's love life has also been widely publicised - first with her engagement to an oil tycoon's son, who proposed to her in 2010 with a rare pink diamond.

The engagement was short-lived, and she was soon reported to be in the arms of a Greek bartender, whom she met when she hosted a flair-tending competition in Greece.
