Reducing dandruff and oily scalp

I've had a dandruff and oily scalp problem since puberty. I'm 22 now and the problem persists.

To overcome it, I've used an anti-dandruff shampoo recommended by pharmacists. Although the condition has improved, there are still traces of dandruff.

My daily regimen includes an oil control anti-dandruff shampoo which works wonders for the first few hours, but by the next morning, my scalp is oily again.

It's really frustrating because I can easily see up to 50 strands of hair falling each day and there is nothing that pharmacists can do to solve this problem. I'm worried that one day a bald spot will appear since it is obvious that my hair is thinning. Please help. - S.Yee

Randall Wong, L'Oreal Professionnel national education manager observes that you have been using products from the drugstore to solve your scalp problem.

Perhaps it is time to use professional products instead. Products from the pharmacy may be effective to counteract your scalp problem, but may be too harsh on your hair.

Try using L'Oreal Professionnel Pure Resource purifying shampoo as your daily wash. It is formulated with vitamin E, purified water and anti hard water agent.

Avoid using a conditioner as it may be too rich for your scalp. Instead, use a leave-in conditioner instead.

Apply L'Oreal Professionnel Force Vector Leave In Cream from mid-length to ends only, avoiding the roots of the hair. This leave-in conditioner will be a light nourishing agent for the hair without weighing it down.

You may not necessarily be experiencing hair loss as it's quite normal to lose 50 strands of hair or more a day.

If indeed your hair is thinning, it could be due to either hereditary or environmental factors. While hereditary loss cannot be fully halted, it can be delayed.

On the other hand, if it's caused by external factors such as using the wrong products, pollution and poor dietary habits, then it can be managed and controlled.

After shampooing and applying the leave-in conditioner, apply L'Oreal Professionnel Trinical, an anti-hair loss treatment which acts as a daily supplement for the scalp, making it stronger. It also extends the lifespan of each strand of hair, supports hair growth and prevents hair loss.

Excessive oil production can be controlled by eating healthily. Avoid oily food, establish a regular sleep pattern and use the right hair products.

marketing wins.

pay money to use their product to strip out all natural oils, and pay money to buy their products to put it back.
