Shop and save
by Cynthia Loh

Looking to shop and save?

Here are some ideas to help you shop on a tighter budget, but do your bit to keep the economy going as well.

Shop hunt @ T3 and shop for free
Changi Airport has been absorbing GST at Terminal 3 since Nov 2008. The good news is passengers and shoppers can now look forward to not paying GST for the rest of the year at selected participating outlets in the public area located in T3's Levels 2, 3 and Basement 2.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is also organising an interactive ‘Stamp and Win’ game for all passengers and visitors to T3’s public area. Visitors can participate in this game to obtain five stamps from any of the participating outlets at the different levels to qualify. No purchases are required. Game participants can redeem free T3 premiums and stand chances to win $500 of Changi Shopping Vouchers weekly.

CAAS is also giving out free $5 discount coupons which shoppers can use when they spend $30 and above at any of the participating retail outlets at T3’s public area.

Affordable chic lunches at Oriole Cafe & Bar
This newly-opened cafe is offering a revised menu featuring a variety of global favourites from a Thai-style Green papaya salad to Italian pastas and English fish & chips (all under S$15) and daily set lunches that start from S$12++.

And if you're a coffee buff, be sure not to miss the cuppas by its award-winning head barista John Ting.

Celebrating women on International Women's Day

This March 8, celebrate your womanhood as Goldheart Jewelry is giving away $190,000 worth of $50 vouchers to the first 3,800 women. This one-off offer is valid for one day only on Sunday 8 March 09.

Also check out Goldheart’s Ascenté diamond. With its emerald-shaped, rectangular face, it means only the clearest of diamonds are used for this cut.

Marks & Spencer is cheaper
The prices at Marks & Spencer have gone down across a range of everyday essentials from Ladies' and Men's casual wear to lingerie.

Lycra tees for ladies now start at $15, while 100% cotton crop cargo pants start at $39.

Or opt for stretch denim jeans at $49 and cotton shirts at $69.

If you like lingerie, you'll be pleased to know that bras are going at $29 while knickers are at $13. A 2-piece pack of cotton bras is only $49. Waist slips & laced-trimmed vests in assorted colours are going for $20.

For men, there are affordable buys like Blue Harbour casual shirts at $39 and chino pants from $49.

Long-sleeved casual shirts are priced at $79, is complemented perfectly by stretch denim jeans at only $59.
