Deck the malls

PARAGON (right)

What is it: A six-storey upmarket shopping mall in the heart of Orchard Road.

Unique selling point: Stores of prestigious luxury labels Tod’s, Miu Miu, Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada will be converted to duplexes fronting the mall.

Tod’s will be the first to unveil its expanded shopfront next month. Gucci is slated to open its five-storey flagship store facing Orchard Road next year.

Target audience: Well-heeled fashionistas who can’t live without their diamond-encrusted Audemars Piguet watches, Burberry trenchcoats, Miu Miu satchels and Ferragamo ballet flats.

TAMPINES 1 (top picture)

What is it: A six-storey suburban mall in Tampines Central.

Unique selling point: New clothing brands Uniqlo, Cache Cache and Lily, 14 concept stores that offer anything from fitness to fashion and food – including a Japanese “gourmet town” that mimics the streets of Osaka, Tokyo and Hokkaido.

Target audience: Shoppers who do not want to get out of Singapore’s far east to shop downtown.
