Malaysian singer Fish Leong took to Weibo on Wednesday (Oct 16) to announce that she is pregnant, saying that her baby will be born next year.

35-year-old singer said on the microblog service: "Been looking forward to this... And now, our family will have another member soon, born in the year of the horse. Thanks, everyone, for your blessings!"

It will be Leong's first child with her husband of three years, Tony Chao.

Asian Pop News reported that Chao commented on Weibo too, saying: "Our family is going to have a new member who will snatch my Lego with me."

Leong's manager confirmed that the singer is 3.5 months pregnant.

The pop star will fulfil her current work commitments, before stopping work to prepare for the birth.

According to The Star, Leong married Zhao in 2010 and since then the media had been asking her about her plans to have a baby.
