50-year-old getai singer Liu Lingling gives birth to baby boy after spending $100k

Local getai singer Liu Lingling underwent successful artificial insemination, but no one knew she was pregnant until she gave birth to a 3.8kg boy last Wednesday (Sep 25).

According to a My Paper report, she announced the good news after the birth, but refused to disclose the identity of the child's father .

Lingling said, "During the last 10 days of pregnancy, the foetus suddenly became big. I also fell down a few days before giving birth.

"I was quickly admitted to hospital on Wednesday for Caesarean section surgery."

After many hardships, Lingling finally has a child of her own. She cried and said, "Even if I lose my life, I am willing!"

She nicknamed her son Xiang Xiang, but was vague when asked about the child's father.

"The child belongs to me, he is my own flesh and blood. If you see me with a man one day, then that is the child's father.

Lingling revealed that she went through two rounds of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF). She got pregnant after the first round, but suffered a miscarriage during the seventh or eighth week of pregnancy.

In total, Lingling spent at least $100,000 on artificial insemination procedures.

Known for being full-figured, Lingling said no one realised she was pregnant and she did not want to tell her family members as she did not want them to worry about her.
