New tech toning cream
by Gladys Chung

Clarins has reformulated its iconic Extra-Firming creams.

First launched in 1978, the latest and fifth version of the creams come in two textures - one for all skin types and another for dry skin ($130 for 50ml each).

The main differences between the previous formula and the latest one are new technology and ingredients. The patented green banana and lemon thyme extracts are said to reinforce the bonds between the collagen fibres and dermal cells, and elastin fibres and collagen fibres, so that skin then becomes firmer. Organic oat sugars in the cream help to tighten skin while hyaluronic acid keeps skin moisturised.

The night creams contain an added rice peptide ingredient to help skin regenerate more effectively at night.

Younger-looking skin is promised after four weeks.

To complement the products, the Clarins Skin Spa is now offering a new Extra Firming Smoother Treatment ($195 for 60 minutes) that promises to lift and tone the face.
