Unmask your beauty with these masks
by Jennifer Dhanaraj

Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Mask $30.90 (100ml)

When I applied this mask, it stung and tingled a little, but it was something I'm used to, especially as it reminded me of having facials.

Plus, the lovely baby-powder scent made up for any discomfort. The grainy texture felt good as my skin was long overdue for exfoliation.

I had the mask on for about 15 minutes, and after washing it off, my skin felt a lot smoother. It also had an obvious glow.

Now, I've been using this mask twice a week, and it has significantly reduced my clogged pores.

Definitely worth trying out especially given its reasonable price tag.

Available at all The Body Shop stores

Kahina Giving Beauty Antioxidant Mask $89 (50ml)

One of the key ingredients in this clay mask is argan oil, which helps draw out impurities and gently polishes and hydrates the skin.

And it works. While many masks exfoliate well, my skin ends up being dry and tight. But this mask made my skin feel moisturised after just 10 minutes.

The mask also had a nice, subtle minty smell.

My skin felt rejuvenated and looked less dull.

Despite the brown colour of the product, it becomes clear after applying on the face. So be careful not to put on too much.

A quarter teaspoon should be enough.

Rose Face Mask by Fresh $85 (100ml)

I was really excited to try this out because of its luxurious packaging.

But after I opened the tub, I was disappointed when I saw what looked like brown gunk.

It smelled good though, so I gave it a shot.

Unfortunately, the rose scent disappeared almost immediately.

The mask was supposed to hydrate and tone.

While the application of the cold gel, which includes rose petals, made me feel relaxed, I didn't see much of a difference on my skin - even after multiple tries.

It didn't help my combination skin but maybe it could work on other skin types?

Available at all Sephora stores
