Lingerie-clad babes heat up Fashion TV beach festival
by Jennifer Dhanaraj

The sun may have set and the weather cooled, but temperatures soared to dizzying heights at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club.

Stunning, leggy models strutted down the catwalk at the Fashion TV Beach Festival, clad in sexy lingerie from Valisere that left little to the imagination.

Not that the crowd was complaining.

Thigh-high stockings paired with sky-high heels titillated, as the previously inattentive audience came alive with wolf whistles, loud applause and extended cheers.

Organised by Creative Insurgence and claiming to be the biggest and most luxurious beach party in Singapore, it started at 11am with a stylish line-up of fashion shows by labels including Armoire, Inner Desire and Zardoze.

Those who attended in the early evening feasted their eyes on a $6,000 one-piece swimsuit studded by Swarovski crystals.

The Beach Festival was being held in Singapore for the first time. Its previous two instalments were held in Monte Carlo and Dubai.

It was not just the babes who stunned. Male models with perfectly sculpted abs and wearing skimpy beachwear by Hom als0 emerged on the catwalk.

Miss Desiree Peters, 24, an advertising executive, is clearly a fan. She told The New Paper on Sunday: "Beach, babes and booze. What's not to love?"

In between catwalk shows, party revellers - most of whom kept to the all-in-white dress code - kept themselves entertained with the non-stop music spun by the festival DJs. A daring few even took dips in the small pool next to the catwalk.

With the majority of guests still arriving after 7pm yesterday, the party was expected to hit its stride later in the evening. Many were expected to stay till the wee hours of the morning.

There are hopes that the festival would become an annual attraction for the next four years with plans to make it a week-long event.
