1. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil
$40

I've tried a range of hair oils and serums over the years, but this one stood out for several reasons.

I loved the fact that it's a dry oil and didn't feel greasy, and also didn't leave a sheen on my hair or an oily feel on my skin.

I have dry and damaged frizzy hair and only a few products seem to help.

But this product managed to not only smooth out the frizz in my hair ends and calm flyaway hairs but also left my hair looking smoother and healthier.

If that wasn't enough, this product is multipurpose and works well on the face and body too.

I'm not a huge fan of the scent, which seemed synthetic and a bit too strong.

All in all, it is a very effective product, but one that is rather expensive and worth shelling out for only if you have particularly damaged hair.

Available at selected Watsons stores islandwide.

2. L'Oreal Elseve Extraordinary Oil
$23.90

This was a disappointment.

After the rave reviews it got from my friends as well as online, I was expecting it to be fantastic.

The product did make my hair feel softer upon application.

But I found that while it did tame the softer flyaway hairs around the crown of my head, it did nothing for my ends, which are drier and stiffer.

I didn't like the product's texture, which felt oily.

It is generally a decent product if all you need is a bit of help with flyaway hair, but it's definitely not for more coarse, damaged hair, like mine.

Available at all leading pharmacies, departmental stores and supermarkets islandwide.

3. Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Treatment
$18.90

This product definitely exceeded my expectations.

Unlike many hair oils and serums that claim to work wonders but don't always, this one made a considerable difference to my hair, smoothing out most of the frizz.

But I found that it works better on damp hair, helping it to dry frizz-free.

Of all the three hair oils, this was the only one whose scent I liked. This combined with the fact that the product was not overwhelmingly greasy makes it a really decent hair oil for the price.

Take into account its packaging - a light and convenientlysized bottle - and this product is a must have for those bad hair days.

Available at selected Watson's stores, including Ngee Ann City, Bugis Junction, Ion Orchard, Marina Square and VivoCity.
