Hong Kong - Nicholas Tse and Zhou Xun say they are neighbours, not lovers.

On Tuesday, the actors refuted an Apple Daily report that said they were an item and Chinese actress Zhou, 38, had moved to Hong Kong to be near Tse, 32.

At a press conference for Emperor Entertainment Group, when an emcee teased Tse about the story, the Hong Kong-based star said:

"Don't believe what the report says."

Later, Tse's manager said the actor was "puzzled" by the story.

"He definitely isn't in love with Zhou Xun and he's always been single since his divorce."

The manager added: "They know each other but they're just neighbours living in the same building."

A publicist for Zhou told Ming Pao Daily News that the Zhejiangborn star does not have a Hong Kong property. According to the publicist, Zhou has a job in Hong Kong and her flat at Pacific Place Apartments, the building where Tse lives, was rented by a production company.

Tse has two sons with his ex-wife, actress Cecilia Cheung, 33.

His ex-girlfriend, singer Faye Wong, 43, is married to Zhou's exboyfriend, actor Li Yapeng, 41.
