Rising number of unwed mothers raises alarm

KUCHING - The numbers of unwed mothers in Sarawak are staggering stated Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, who urged mothers to impart religious and moral values to their children to curb the trend.

"Mothers are their children's educators, inspirations and role models," said Fatimah during a Mothers Day celebration organised by the Single Mother's Association yesterday.

Last year, Sarawak General Hospital records 827 births by unwed mothers, with the number growing annually. Four years ago, there were 703 babies born.

"With the right nurturing, mothers can shape their children's future and character. The young need a good guidance to walk away from the wrong path of life," said Fatimah.

"Some of these mothers gave birth as early as 13, and studies show that pregnancy at an early age poses a health hazard to the mother and the baby."

Meaning more abortions?
Young couples dont really care a damn, I love you, you love me, so can do this.
In the end, who suffer? The girl, not the boy.

Actually, Cannot blame the husbands for not doing much!!! I know of many women always complaining about their husbands....But when I inquired why, I realized it is they who created the monster that they loath!!!

Meaning, They will willingly pamper the husbands and do everything for the husbands, to make sure their husbands give them the attention they crave and can't live without them!!! once they achieve that, they than start to wonder why they husband have to constantly be taken care of

Wonderful to be a mother. Horrible to be wife.
Husband behave worst and give more trouble then the kids.

My muslim friend's husband.... can't even serve himself a plate of rice.
Kids can do so much more then the husband.
