Miley Cyrus has revealed news of topping Maxim magazine's annual Hot 100 list, weeks before the news was to be released.

Excited to be taking the crown from Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli, the 20-year-old singer posted the news on her Twitter and Instagram accounts on Saturday.

Along with a picture of herself from an upcoming spread in the magazine, she tweeted: “Didn’t know this was coming out yet! I’m so happy to be #1 on Maxims HOT 100! #myfanskickass #dreamsdocometrue.” The picture shows her lying seductively on a beach in a plunging gold swimsuit.

She posted the same image on her Instagram account and dedicated it to her fans.
