SINGAPORE - It was an annual night of glitz and glamour at the Star Awards Show 2 Sunday night at Marina Bay Sands.

Amidst her relationship hullabaloo, actress Joanne Peh emerged unscathed as she clinched her seventh trophy for the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste at the ceremony.

In her speech, Peh thanked her company for allowing her to "find my happiness", in a thinly-veiled reference to her beau, Qi Yuwu.

Qi, however, was not so lucky. The China-born actor missed out on a Top 10 placing this year. He had won the award eight times previously, since 2004.

According to media reports, both brushed off talk that the announcement of their budding romance had anything to do with how the results panned out.

Not that Qi should be disappointed. In an interview during the post-event party, Peh said she didn't have to console Qi, as "he already has me".

Besides their relationship, Peh's red carpet dress with a criminally high slit also got tongues wagging.
