Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C, has been named Tesco's Celebrity Mum Of The Year, reported The Independent.

The 39-year-old British singer-songwriter and charity worker, whose daughter Scarlet turned four on Friday, said she is "proud and humbled" to win the annual award.

"There are millions of inspirational mums out there doing incredible things to help others, so it's fantastic to be involved with something that celebrates this," said Chisholm.

She will receive her award early next month.
