Singapore shoppers will have another top American brand to enjoy when CH Carolina Herrera opens its first stand-alone boutique in Southeast Asia at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands in March, 2013.
Known for her combination of luxury, elegance and yet somehow, relaxed style, American fashion designer Carolina Herrera's diffusion line offers the same "effortless chic" as her pricier main collection but at a more affordable price.
The brand includes womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, shoes, handbags and small leather goods, so the entire family can be dressed by the woman often considered one of the most elegant in the world.
CH Carolina Herrera was created by the designer in 2001 with her daughter - whose name, would you believe it, is also Carolina Herrera, which of course stands for the "CH" of the brand name.
"Collaborating with my daughter on the CH Carolina Herrera line is a dream come true. For me, the greatest part of designing is highlighting the best of each person without changing their personality," says the designer Carolina Herrera about the diffusion label. "And I truly believe we have achieved this, a collection where everything can be combined and adapted to different occasions, respecting individual styles. All the garments are created on premises of extraordinary beauty, where one can feel comfortable, free and relaxed."
Shoppers can expect everything from casual sportswear to tailored suits and evening outfits with a "feminine, refined and active" feel from CH Carolina Herrera. "This collection reflects a spirit an attitude towards life, independent of age. I have used pure lines, excellent fabrics and cuts," says the designer.
On top of the fashion items there are also "specialty items" available that include bits and pieces that you never knew you needed like travel blankets and silk sleeping masks from the travel collection or buck-skin driving gloves. There are also items that make great gifts for people who have everything - keyrings made in ebony, silver or semi-precious stones, bottle holders, cigar holders and humidifiers plus ties, scarves and shawls.
The store itself is like a window into the world of Carolina Herrera and will feature hardwood floors, silk-lined armoires, a fireplace and a library, all liberally sprinkled with burning aromatic candles carrying CH Carolina Herrera signature scents.
"CH Carolina Herrera represents today's lifestyle. It represents my daughters and myself," says the designer. "It is a spirit and an attitude towards life. The woman is free and modern; the man is unique and active. It is a complete universe of elegance, comfort and style, housed in an extraordinarily refined space."
