Couples are keeping it simple this time

JOHOR BARU - Many couples here are opting for simple flower bouquets minus the teddy bears and chocolates this Valentine's Day.

Xin Florist and Gift Centre project planner Kenneth Ng said that despite the hundreds of different designs available, many customers were opting for simple designs.

"Many customers want their bouquets to be filled with fresh red roses while some prefer tulips.

"One customer even requested that we fill his car boot with fresh red roses to surprise his girlfriend," he said.

He added that customers these days wished to surprise and shower their loved ones with more than one gift, hence they prefer to present chocolates and teddy bears separately.

He also said there was a growing number of customers who did their shopping online.

"Young adults prefer to browse through selections and purchase bouquets online and skip the hassle of driving over to place their orders," he said, adding that online promotions helped to boost sales.
