Cecilia 'happiest woman in divorce'

Hong Kong - If her divorce from actor Nicholas Tse dealt her a huge blow, actress Cecilia Cheung certainly hid that well in an interview.

In the interview with TV channel nowTV host Albert Au, which aired on Monday, Cheung, 32, instead presents herself as happy and as a woman who is not bereft of suitors.

In a remark pointing to an unhappy five-year marriage, she tells Au that she is the happiest woman in a divorce, reported Apple Daily Hong Kong.

Before their split in 2011, she had gone through quite a patch, what with her involvement in the 2008 Edison Chen sex photo scandal and a media storm after she reconciled with the pop star during a flight from Taipei in 2011.

But she says: "Everyone makes mistakes. At that moment, you do it because you really want to do it, so there's no need for regrets."

She says she maintains a tough image despite being stressed by family responsibilities, but admits to having unhappy moments.

"I would cry it out at night, then tackle a new day on waking. I have shut myself in the bathroom, hugging myself, to weep silently for fear of alarming the kids," says the mother of Lucas, aged five, and Quintus, two, her sons with Tse, 32.

She says Lucas has begun to realise that his parents are divorced, and she will explain the matter to her children when the time comes.

"It's okay when a divorced mother marries another uncle and has a baby sister," she adds.

She says she has many suitors. But she adds: "I haven't found anyone new. Perhaps (the baby sister) will come suddenly... No hassle, no dating, split and divorce. When the time comes, just have the baby."
