It was worth the 11-year wait.
Alessandra Ambrosio, 31, finally got to model the Victoria's Secret US$2.5 million (S$3.05 million) Fantasy Bra.
Last Thursday, the stunning Brazilian model unveiled the bejewelled garment at the lingerie giant's Herald Square store in New York.
The Floral Fantasy Bra Gift Set, designed exclusively for Victoria's Secret by New Jersey-based London Jewellers, features a Very Sexy push-up bra studded with amethysts, sapphires and rubies, with a floral 20-carat diamond centrepiece, Daily Mail reported.
It is worn with a delicate belt, strung across the midriff, which sparkles with a further 5,200 precious stones, all set in 18 carat rose and yellow gold.
Is the bra heavy?
"Well, it's set on the Very Sexy Push-Up Bra, so it's comfortable," Ambrosio told Elle magazine.
"Last year in the show, I had to carry about 20kg wings on my back, so this is nothing compared to that.
"And when you have over 5,000 precious gems on your body, it feels pretty good."
Ambrosio was chosen as this year's model for the latest multi-million dollar bra after 11 years as a Victoria's Secret Angel, and she follows the footsteps of other supermodels such as Miranda Kerr, Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum.
She told Gossip Centre, a celebrity gossip site: "I feel so honoured to be wearing the bra. It feels like incredible.
"I feel really beautiful and I can't wait to wear it in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Dec 4."
And, for a mere US$500,000 more, the set comes with the Bombshell Fantasy Fragrance.
The bottle has pink and yellow diamonds, sapphires, tsavorite, rubies, amethysts, a 10 carat white diamond, plus "a one of a kind, hand carved tourmaline butterfly".
Ambrosio wore a plunging gold dress, paired with dazzling diamond earrings and bracelets during the function.
Her chestnut hair was sideswept and curled, and with a lash of red lipstick her look was a perfect tribute to vintage Hollywood glamour.
She recently told People.com that she got the call from the lingerie firm just three weeks after she gave birth to her son Noah. That put her under tremendous pressure to get back in shape.
She remembers she was breastfeeding when she got the news. She said: "I just wanted to scream. But I won't lie, I was really worried. I was in total mother mode."
Working out
The mother-of-two, who is married to businessman Jamie Mazur, revealed that she had to seek permission from her doctor before she started working out again.
Once she got the nod, she began with yoga and walking for the first two months, later adding spin classes and Pilates to the mix.
Treats were not completely off the menu. She said her daughter, four-year-old Anya, loves cupcakes and they would share one once in a while.
Now that she is back at her stunning best, she can't wait to get back into the modelling limelight.
"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," she was quoted as saying.
