Sex-for-contracts

WHO: Former IT sales manager Cecilia Sue Siew Nang, 36, prosecution witness in the sex-for-contracts trial of former Central Narcotics Bureau director Ng Boon Gay.

WHAT: Ng, 46, faces four charges of obtaining oral sex from Ms Sue to further the interest of her companies between June and December last year.

TRIAL: Ms Sue testified in court last week that Ng had forced her to give him oral sex in a car on those four occasions. The defence maintains they were in a consensual relationship. The case has been adjourned to Oct 31.

FATALE FACTOR: Inconsistency in statements to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) and court.

She told CPIB: “My liking for Boon Gay was strong enough for me to contemplate divorcing my husband to go to Boon Gay.”

But she denied this in court.

WHO: Ms Pang Chor Mui, in her 40s. The then general manager at Nimrod Engineering is one of the three women linked to a sex-for-contracts case with former Singapore Civil Defence Force commissioner Peter Benedict Lim Sin Pang, 52.

WHAT: Lim is accused of engaging in sex with Ms Pang at a carpark at Stadium Walk on May 2, 2010, while she was the general manager of Nimrod Engineering.

Nine other charges involving Lim and Ms Lee Wei Hoon and Ms Esther Goh Tok Mui, who held senior positions at the Singapore Radiation Centre and IT company NCS respectively, have been stood down.

TRIAL: Scheduled for next January.

FATALE FACTOR: In an interview with TNP in June, Ms Pang’s husband described her as very beautiful, but a naive and simple woman.

Sex-for-grades

WHO: Ms Darinne Ko Wen Hui, 23, who was allegedly involved with National University of Singapore (NUS) law professor Tey Tsun Hang, 41, when she was his student.

WHAT: Tey allegedly obtained gifts and sexual favours in exchange for favouring Miss Ko in his assessment of her academic performance between May and July 2010.

He is also accused of having sexual intercourse with her on two occasions.

TRIAL: Scheduled for mid-December.

FATALE FACTOR: Miss Ko allegedly had her grades of D, E, or near failure for the subjects Equity and Trusts, Personal Property Law, and a Directed Research thesis lifted to B+, B and A- , in exchange for gratification.

Underage paid sex with 51 men

WHO: A 17-year-old prostitute was paid for sex with 51 men, including Howard Shaw Chai Li, grandson of the founder of cinema giant Shaw Organisation, and former Pei Chun Public School principal Lee Lip Hong.

WHAT: The 51 men were charged with having commercial sex with the girl, now 19, between September 2010 and last October, when she was below 18.

The 51 accused engaged her through her pimp after seeing her services advertised on a website. She was described on the portal as an 18-year-old.

TRIAL: The 11th accused, former Republic of Singapore Navy captain Chan Wei Kiat, 27, was sentenced to 11 weeks’ jail on Tuesday.

FATALE FACTOR: Her clients paid up to $750 to have sex with her.

Sex with student

WHO: A female teacher in a top school allegedly had sex with a student when he was 15 years old.

WHAT: The boy, now 16, was a member of a sports team she was in charge of. The teacher, who’s in her 30s, allegedly had sex with him on more than one occasion.

TRIAL: The teacher was charged in August.

FATALE FACTOR: Not only did the teacher allegedly have sex with the student, but also allegedly with a minor.
