Nanyang Siang Pau reported that Chinese superstar Zhang Ziyi had hit out at her critics for still spreading rumours that she had an affair with disgraced Chinese leader Bo Xilai.

In her tweets on Saturday, Zhang said: "The gossip has been going on for more than five months. Even the most well-mannered person will not be able to tolerate this.

"To those who are still constantly harping on the issue, I will respond to you again. Go back and ask your mum. If your mum was there, then so was I," she said.

Bo has been expelled from the Communist Party for corruption and improper sexual liaisons.
