VMV Hypoallergenics opens first store in Singapore

SINGAPORE - VMV Hypoallogenics, a skincare brand founded by Filipino dermatologist Dr Vermen M Verallo-Rowell, has opened its first store in Singapore at Ion Orchard.

It is the world's first cosmeceutical brand to have a rating system on each product which shows the number of common allergens absent from it, and is the only system to be validated by the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

Suitable for sensitive skin - which describes skin that is easily irritated or excessively dry and red - the VMV range is free of fragrances, parabens, preservatives and phhalates (a type of plasticiser).

Available in the US, the brand has received rave reviews in fashion magazines for its products, including the Re-Everything Treatment Toner.

We were impressed by another best-seller, the Armada Sport SPF 70 sunblock ($53 for 85g), which offers extreme protection for outdoor sports.

Ultra-lightweight, it glided on to the skin effortlessly and did not leave a white cast like some other heavy-duty sunscreens.

Prices start from $15 for a face and body soap to $150 for a treatment serum.

VMV Hypoallergenics is located at B3-48 Ion Orchard.
