This 22-year-old Augusta, Georgia, native is the latest brunette babe of the popular Step Up dance movie franchise, following in the footsteps of predecessors Jenna Dewan, Briana Evigan and Sharni Vinson.
WHERE YOU'VE SEEN HER
If you happen to be a fan of reality TV dance series So You Think You Can Dance, you might remember McCormick as the third-place finalist and top girl dancer on Season 6.
WHY HER?
She was born to dance.
At just three years old, she started her training at her dance instructor mother's studio. By 11, she was winning tap and jazz dance competitions. At 13, she moved on to ballet.
When she was 18, she relocated to Hollywood and landed a small role as a dancer in the 2009 movie Fame.
She's also easy on the eye and has a sparkly personality.
But whether or not her acting is strong enough to land her a role in a movie without dancing remains to be seen.
WHAT'S NEW?
She nabbed the lead role in Step Up Revolution, the fourth instalment of the series which opens here on Aug 30 and her feature film debut.
She plays gifted contemporary dancer Emily, who's torn between the privilege provided by her father's wealth and her own artistic aspirations.
She soon gets involved with some Miami street dancers whose neighbourhood is threatened by a developer - who happens to be her dad.
