Do the patriotic thing... and shop!
by Yeoh Wee Teck

The great Singaporean sport of sale hunting is alive and well this National Day week.

It is bargains galore this week, so why not use the chance to find something stylish in red and white?

Now, don't roll your eyes. It's cool to pay tribute to our country at least once a year.

Here are some red-and-white items that can be worn with pride on Thursday.

There is nothing like a hot little Love Mi dress ($43) for our hot weather.

There is a 10 per cent discount off regular-priced items both online - www.lovemishop.com - and in-store - 14 Keong Saik Road - from Thursday to Aug 12.

If you like red and white in small doses, this Topshop silk top ($96) should workfor you.

It is great for the weather and it pairs well with jeans or cut-offs.

From Wednesday to Aug 12, you get a 50 per cent discount off the third item you buy at Topshop. Terms and conditions apply.

It seems that the polo tee is a huge hit in Singapore. Everyone has one, right? If that's the case, why not get one in red and white?

This Ben Sherman polo ($109) is preppy, fun, and perfect for an afternoon out. One thing though, if you would take some fashion advice - please don't pop the collar.

It's half-price off the third item you buy at Ben Sherman from Wednesday to Aug 12.

Guys, rocking a red-and-white shirt may be easier than you would expect.

This Levi's shirt ($89.90) is rugged but trendy enough to useon a date.

From Wednesday to Aug 21, it's 30 per cent off all items storewide at Levi's.

This is not just a red-and-white watch. This is a red-and-white watch designed by a Singaporean.

Last year, during the adidas All 24 event in Singapore, a watch-customising contest was held, and Mr Kenneth Wong, 26, won.

Only 470 pieces of this limited edition watch have been produced in conjunction with National Day.

The watch is available at Adidas Originals boutiques in Pacific Plaza and Marina Bay Sands and costs $140.

These New Look shoes are inexpensive ($29.90) but they are delightful.

And since they're laceless, they are easy to kick off if you're planning a National Day picnic.

New Look is also having its end of season sale now, with up to 70 per cent off certain items.
