Put down that cookie and step away from the cookie jar! Hong Kong actress Gigi Lai has reportedly gained almost 10kg since she announced her pregnancy in April-and it's all down to her sweet tooth.
According to Hong Kong's East Week, she's been craving sugary treats because she's eating for three. That's right, she's the mother of twin daughters and now she's going to be mummy to twin boys!
Gigi, who got pregnant through artificial insemination, had a minor scare with her first babies when the second girl was born underweight. Since then the 41-year-old mum could care less about her figure as she focuses on the health of her babies.
The report also said that Gigi's businessman husband Patrick Ma had bought them a new luxury home in preparation for their extended family. Gigi chose to quit the showbiz world after her marriage in 2008 and her promise to give Patrick a male heir.
Once known as "the goddess of beauty", Gigi changed her name from Lai Zi to Lai Ka Yee, which phonetically sounds like the phrase "adding a child", after a geomancer told her that this would up her chances of having babies.
