A man most inclined to cheat is likely to be in his 40s, been married for over 10 years and has two children over the age of 10, reported The Huffington Post.
He is also most likely to work in either IT or engineering fields.
These were the results from a survey conducted by AshleyMadison.com, a controversial dating site for married people looking to have affairs.
More than 11,000 male members on the website were surveyed, with most of them found to be employed in IT or engineering.
Members in this occupational group have moved up the list from a similar survey in 2010, when they came in fifth.
Men who work in the financial industry came in second, followed by those in the educational field, with doctors and lawyers in third and fourth place respectively.
The survey also found that the average man has had about six cheating encounters, according to reports.
As for cheating wives, she is likely to be in her 30s, married for five years or less, and have a daughter under three years old.
The site polled 2,865 of their married female members in May and results also revealed that she is likely to be a teacher, a housewife, or work in the medical industry.
