Miss World makes first-time visit to Bali

BALI, Indonesia - Miss World 2011 Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares landed at Ngurah Rai International Airport on Tuesday afternoon for a five-day holiday here.

The 22 -year old Venezuelan beauty claimed that it was love at first sight with the island.

"I am so excited, this is my first time in Bali and I feel very good because the people here are great," she said after paying a visit to the Governor's office in Renon.

She was accompanied by the chairwoman of the Miss World Organization Julia Morley, Miss Indonesia Astrid Ellena and chairwoman of the Miss Indonesia Organization Liliana Tanoesoedibjo.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika warmly welcomed the model, who was orphaned at the age of 8 but managed to overcome life's difficulties to pursue a high-profile career in the fashion and pageant world.

During her holiday in Bali, Colmenares will visit many of the island's renowned attractions.

She will see the fascinating show of Devdan, a visual journey combining the best elements of Indonesian traditional performing arts with stunning modern lighting and visual effects, at the Bali Nusa Dua Theater.

She will also visit the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park, the site of the planned Garuda Wisnu statue crafted by famous Bali-born sculptor Nyoman Nuarta.

She is expected to go to the Bali Collection Nusa Dua, a compound of luxurious boutiques, and Ayana rock bar for a fun night on the town.

She will leave the island for Jakarta on April 28 to attend the coronation of the 2012 Miss Indonesia.
