The next Miss Singapore Universe could be born a man

SINGAPORE - Next year's Miss Universe Singapore could be won by a transgender contestant, reported The Straits Times, after the organiser revealed they are considering accepting contestants who have had a sex change.

The news comes after a Canadian transgender woman, Ms Jenna Talackova (pictured above), 23, was disqualified from the competition due to her status.

But was eventually allowed to return, after hinting that she would file a discrimination lawsuit against the organisers.

A spokesman for Derrol Stepnenny Promotions, which runs the Miss Universe pageant in Singapore, said it is waiting for instructions from the parent organisation, co-owned by United States real estate mogul Donald Trump and television network NBC.

The Straits Times reported that news of the move drew mixed reactions from Singaporeans.

Some felt that transgender contestants may have an unfair advantage as they would have gone under the knife.

Others lauded the move, saying the change would make the competition more relevant.

It is still unclear if whether transgender contestants would have to declare their status when entering the pageant.

For someone who is 53 this year, you come across as sheltered in your childhood. You obviously have not seen the agogo days of the sixties when you should be growing up then, and are still now. :D

There was a time that you cannot find a sex shop in Singapore but today you can see several of them in Geylang and even Orchard Road. Although I see it as the government losing its social and moral values by giving them the licenses to setup such shops, however for someone's benefit, they can go and buy a stick and do whatever they like with it. No need to go and look for another guy to do it with the real thing...

Aiyah, this is one of the rare moment when I would like smickno to be in the debate but I am sure he will agree with this statement.

You see hor, sometimes I suspect some SG Ta-bor can look more feminine than many SG Chabor, so it will be a great day when a transgender win the SG Miss Universe to prove a point.

On the other hand I agree we might as well forget about winning the Miss Universe title if the Thai competes in this category. Look at PC airways

What if the transgender has not fully completed his sex changed cycle?

Will Miss Universe allow someone who has a vaginal as well as a penis to compete?

Dont be surprised ... like Table-Tennis and professional sportswomen ... next time Singapore want a piece of medal from International Beauty Contests, they may offer Sui Sui Ah Kuas from any country a PR and Citizenship to represent Singapore and claim honor to it .... :D :D :D

Lets see when we have a import Ah Kua offered a PR and Citizenship and help Singapore get a first Miss Universe title .... then there will be a lot of MIW in Singapore proudly claim Singapore got talent and potential in mould more ah kuas .... :D :D
