Million-dollar closer for Men's Fashion Week
by Sara Ann K

The closing show of the 5-day long Music & Men's Fashion Week 2012, held from the 18th to the 22nd of April at Marina Bay Sands, was an audio visual extravaganza staged by fashion house MCM, or Mode Creation Munich as it is now known.

Produced at a budget of $1million, it was a night of visual excess - from the label's Fall/Winter collection to motorized segways done up in the brand's signature monogram in camel-coloured leather. A far cry from the company's previously troubled past when it was known as Micheal Cromer Munich.

South Korean businesswoman Sung Joo Kim has turned the company around, after sinking more than $40 million in purchasing and resurrecting the brand since 2005. Her "no expense spared" mindset was even reflected in the A-list guests seated in the front row.

These included the South Korean Ambassador to Singapore, Mr Oh Joon and his family, Korean-American actor-model Daniel Henney, and Hong Kong actors Shawn Yue and Ron Ng.

"I wanted to find something worthy of wearing to this big MCM party," said the 33-year-old Ron Ng who flew in from Hong Kong, right after finishing filming on a set in China. "So I actually asked a good friend of mine from Beijing to send something over for me," he added of his unique textured royal blue suit.

RazorTV attended the star-studded affair and went celebrity-spotting on the red carpet.
