A host of stars are expected to attend the wedding reception of Ella Chen (of Taiwanese girl pop group S.H.E) in her fiance Alvin Lai's hometown, Malacca.
It was reported in major Chinese dailies that the couple's wedding was nearing and they have been drafting a guest list, which included several popular celebrities, although they were said to have "yet to decide on the date and venue of the reception."
Other than Selina Jen and Hebe Tien of S.H.E, it was reported that the guests will include Taiwanese rock duo Power Station, who are from the same recording company as Ella.
Ella, 30, had earlier announced over her micro blog that she will marry her Malaysian boyfriend Alvin this year.
The 35-year-old Alvin graduated from Pay Fong Middle School in Malacca and is currently an executive of a cosmetic brand in Taiwan.
It was also reported that Alvin's parents are overjoyed with the union, but refused to divulge details of their son's wedding when interviewed here recently.
Alvin's father, a businessman dealing in the apparel industry, said the family has decided to let the couple arrange and decide on the details of their reception.
"We are happy that he has finally found his better-half.
"He is all grown up and will make his own choice. But what's important is that both of them are happy together," he said.
Speculations are also rife that the couple are holding their wedding reception at one of the five-star hotels in the historic city in mid-May.
However, a hotel spokesperson refused to disclose any information, saying that clients' details are private and confidential.
