Ikea recalls kids' tent after injury

Swedish furniture maker Ikea is recalling a children's folding tent that has seen about 98,700 sales worldwide.

The BUSA tent's steel wire frame can break and the sharp ends of the wire can protude and endanger children, reported The Straits Times.

A minor injury was reported in Japan, and on Tuesday, Ikea received news that there had been three cases worldwide where the wire frame broke and poked through the fabric.

The tents were tested and found to be unsafe for children, leading to a worldwide recall.

About 195 of the $14.90 tents have been sold here since its launch in August, but the spokeman has said that there have been no reports or complaints in Singapore.

People who have bought the tent are advised to return it to either Ikea stores, at Alexandra or Tampines, for a full refund.
