Korean singles think spouse should earn at least $40,000

Korean singles believe ideal annual income of potential partners should be at least $40,000, a poll showed on Wednesday.

The research showed that while males wished for partners with annual salary of at least US$30,055, females answered that the bottom line should be US$37,110.

Job Korea, a local online recruitment website, conducted the study with some 545 singles concerning the preferable financial state of future spouses.

The participants also hoped for spouses with careers involved in the financial business, information technology, food and beverage retail, services and the electronics industry in the order of preference.

Conditions which respondents could not give up when it comes to choosing marriage partners were character and values, followed by income, appearance, and career.

It also added that an ideal male height was 178 centimeters, while that of female was 165 centimeters.
