Hollywood – Some US$2 million (S$2.8 million) worth of jewellery and other belongings was stolen from the home of Paris Hilton, said the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident occurred at her Hollywood Hills home last Friday. A security guard reported a forced entry at 5am and said the burglar was a man in a hooded sweat shirt and gloves.
The burglar got in through an unlocked door, said police sources, and Hilton’s bedroom was ransacked.
The socialite-reality television star was not home at the time of the burglary and the house is equipped with security video equipment.
Detectives were at the Hilton home on Friday morning conducting interviews.
Hilton recently told Esquire magazine: “The best thing I’ve ever bought with money is my house.
“Having a nightclub in your house really helps for having a party.”
